9.4 Multiplexed Proteomics for Detection of Specific Proteins in Gels and on Blots
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Molecular Probes is the leader in the developing area of Multiplexed Proteomics — the simultaneous detection of multiple protein targets in a single sample. Our detection methodology typically involves differential staining of the entire protein profile and specific proteins, such as glycoproteins or epitope-tagged proteins, in two or more visually distinguishable colors. Our Pro-Q, DyeChrome and Amplex Gold kits and reagents, which are described in this section, use novel specific protein detection reagents in combination with some of the general protein stains described in Section 9.3 for dichromatic — or even trichromatic — staining of proteins on the same gel or blot. Multiplex detection reduces the number of duplicate gels that must be run and ensures the spatial registration of protein spots in the sample.

Carbohydrate-Binding Proteins and Their Conjugates
Cellular proteoglycans, glycoproteins and glycolipids may contain any of a wide variety of oligosaccharides. Although most abundant on the cell surface, oligosaccharide residues are sometimes also found covalently attached to the constituents found within the cell.1 Often, specific oligosaccharides are associated with a certain cell type or organelle. Lectins and certain other carbohydrate-bind...
متن کاملProteomic Analysis of Gene Expression in Basal Cell Carcinoma
Background: Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is a type of non-melanoma skin cancer. Alteration in gene expression is the important event that happens in cancer cell. Detection of this event is possible by proteomics techniques. Methods: Normal and tumor tissues were taken from BCC patient. Total proteins were purified by standard methods, and proteins were separated by two-dimensional electrophoresis...
متن کاملO-5: Identification of Novel ImmunodominantEpididymal Sperm Proteins Using CombinatorialApproach
Background: Alteration in the protein signatures of functionally immature testicular spermatozoa occurs during their journey through the epididymis. This leads to acquisition of sperm domain specific functions essential for successful fertilization. Epididymal sperm proteins are preferred targets for immunocontraception as well as in elucidating the causes of infertility. The Background of the ...
متن کاملA Novel Method to Detect β-Cyclodextrin Glucosyl Transferase (β-CGTase) Activity on Polyacrylamide Gels
b-cyclodextrin glucosyl transferase (b-CGTase) hydrolyses starch to produce b-cyclodextrin by transglycosylation (cyclization) activity. The conventional method for detection of b-CGTase activity is based on detecting starch hydrolysis by iodine staining. This method reveals all amylolytic enzymes, but can not discriminate them. In the present study, we introduce a new method for specific detec...
متن کاملEthanol and Cancer Induce Similar Changes on Protein Expression Pattern of Human Fibroblast Cell
Abstract Ethanol has a vast consumption around the world. Many researches confirmed some adverse effect of this component on human health. In addition, recent studies showed significant alteration in both cellular population, and protein profile of human foreskin fibroblast cell line (HFFF2) in the specific dosage of ethanol. Here, the role and interaction of some proteins (characterized by sig...
